SDG 2 Zero Hunger | CSR Event in Madrid

On March 16th, a Sustainable Team Building Event in Madrid was organized, specifically at Jardín de Somontes, where participants (part of a multinational corporation’s team) achieved a €900 micro-donation for the NGO World Central Kitchen. Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, WCK’s goal is to be first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.

The Sustainable Development Goal selected for the event was SDG 2 Zero Hunger, with the goal of donating the raised funds to World Central Kitchen, which carries out international relief projects wherever the need arises, with active missions currently in Ukraine, Chile, and since February 6th, most notably in Turkey and Syria, where as of this publication date WCK has already served over 12 million meals. The extraordinary work of NGOs like World Central Kitchen and the growing interest of both small and large companies in sustainable event formats make it possible to transform teamwork into solidarity through international initiatives connecting people, businesses, and NGOs with a shared purpose. The event was also carbon neutral, minimizing CO2 emissions wherever possible—such as utilizing collective transport and reusable materials (paperless)—and offsetting the remainder through tree planting.
